This is a process whereby an experienced pain
management specialist inserts a needle into the
center of an intervertebral disk. Then the specialist
injects liquid into the disk to see if by pressurizing
the disk this will mimic the pain the patient
has. This procedure is often times used after
history and physical exam and assorted tests are
not clear which disk or if a disk is causing the
pain .This often sheds light on this to guide
the specialist to treat a specific level of disk.
